Provide Project Engineering and Technical Leadership of electronics developed for space programs, and/or support development, evaluation, and demonstration of new technology for our future high performance space-based processing applications through funded Programs or Internal Research and Development efforts. This position will allow you to support the Space Electronics Systems long range goal of growing our business through processing pursuits for both the Commercial Space and National Programs Business Teams.

Honeywell is seeking Principal/Staff Project Engineers for our Space Electronics Systems business located in Clearwater, Florida. Honeywell’s Space Electronic Systems is an industry leader providing space-based processing solutions.

As a member of this team, you will provide Project Engineering and Technical Leadership of electronics developed for space related programs, and/or support development, evaluation, and demonstration of new technology for our future high performance space-based processing applications through funded Programs or Internal Research and Development efforts. This position provides you the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the highest talented systems engineers and leaders in our organization. This position will allow you to support the Space Electronics Systems long range goal of growing our business through processing pursuits for both the Commercial Space and National Programs Business Teams.

Develop Technology Simulation, Modeling, Design Technical Documentation Project Schedule, Budget and Milestone management Travel to interface with customers

  • Create defensible, supportable estimates & plans
  • Manage program scope and customer expectations to drive “win/win” outcomes
  • Establish and follow a clear, concise, and effective management operating system
  • Identify and manage program risk/opportunities
  • Understand and apply key program analytics to drive successful program execution
  • Effectively manage multi-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, typically through influence

* YOU MUST HAVE *

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 12 plus years of Engineering Experience

  • Provide Leadership – Provide systems engineering leadership support through all phases of the Integrated Product Development and Support (IPDS) process.
  • Interface and build relationships with customer to develop business, define architectures and requirements.
  • Develop Technology – for High performance computing or reconfigurable computing systems
  • Perform - Technical proposal preparation, modeling & simulation of architectures, requirements review, allocation, and management throughout design process.
  • Coordinate - Design and analysis activities across all engineering functions, build and test of engineering hardware.
  • Communicate - Communicate system technical progress to customers and internal management. Prepare and present design review briefings, and be proficient in professional technical writing
  • Get Results - Removes barriers, streamlines the infrastructure, open to new opportunities at all levels, looks for bottom line results rather than adherence to form
  • Innovate - Simplify tasks, maintains priorities and clearly define non-negotiable's, push the envelope on innovation wherever possible.
  • Manage Risk - Maintains customer commitments, balances approach risks vs. opportunities for improvement, challenge the status quo. Identifies/manages technical risks and provide status to customers and internal management.
