The Materials Manager will lead the logistics and planning departments. The Material Manager needs to ensure that customer demand and forecast are planned within the factory to maximize delivery response through material and labor availability. This must be done while ensuring minimum inventory, cost and waste. Lead, coach and motivate employees in Logistics and Planning to create a continuous improvement culture in accordance with the Honeywell Operation System.

Work with EFS SIOP leader to develop & maintain a strong SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations) Planning process:

  • Interact with the Demand Managers to ensure factory visibility to forecasted customer demand
  • Translate sales forecasts into a viable Master Production Schedule.
  • Work with Sourcing to develop world-class supply-planning processed through to appropriate tier in the supply base
  • Work with Operations & Engineering to manage capacity constraints at the factory
  • Take a lead in the SIOP Supply Review at the factory
  • Load factory build schedule in line with SIOP plans, whilst tracking against AOP
  • Review and report on factory build to schedule performance

Responsible for ERP System. Master Schedule to be loaded over an 18 month forecast horizon in line with AOP/SIOP minimum horizon:

  • Analyse and adjust typical Planning BOM details as required
  • Analyse mix sales, mix ratios, for Enraf product lines to ensure forecast load mix is adjusted as required
  • Ensure phase in/out effectivity to ensure minimization of IOS
  • Ensure data integrity at item and order level through regular parameter review, past due management, etc.
  • Load forecasts and develop MPS as appropriate taking account of capacity constraints
  • Ensure that MRP is run on a timely basis with appropriate pre and post MRP checks
  • Manage the inbound logistics and warehouse function to maximize production availability whilst minimizing cost
  • Ensure any premiums due to expedited shipments have been approved in advance
  • Report on freight costs vs targets
  • Coordinate timely receipt and inspection to minimize influence on cycle-time
  • Ensure timely supply to Production, including expedite of any “hot parts”
  • Manage accurate inventory records with timely transaction processing on ERP system

  • ​Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or supply chain management preferred (HBO)

  • A formal qualification in materials management is required (e.g. APICS CPIM)
  • Knowledge of Lean tools (Kanban, continuous flow, standardized work) and experience in Lean Philosophy, preferably green belt certified +

Thorough knowledge and experience (5-7 years) in Manufacturing/Planning/Materials/Supply Chain Management.

  • Extensive knowledge of MPS/MRP.

  • Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

  • Advanced ability to effectively problem-solve within multi-disciplined teams, communicate (orally and in writing), lead business discussions and train others.
