CAD Designer

Design solutions to drive safe living and quality of life

  • Develop, design, and layout electrical equipment, parts, and assemblies
  • Create product definitions using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
  • Participate in the development of methods, processes, or procedures that drive improvements in productivity and quality.
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.
  • Perform technical support functions to achieve quality, delivery schedules, and cost objectives.
  • Define and recommend new designs, design changes, and alternate designs of instruments, and test equipment, and orders tooling, gauging, and equipment necessary to assure product quality.
  • Apply, develop and recommend innovative methodologies and technologies which are equal to the industry's state of the art to resolve processing and design problems.
  • Recognizes outcomes and formulates plans to achieve the desired effect• Assesses hidden or underlying problems, identifies value added ideas

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Two-year electrical, electronic or related CAD, drafting or tool design technical degree or 2 years of CAD Design experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen to obtain and maintain a Level Q Security Clearance
  • 2 years of experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and Geometric Positioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • 2 years of experience with circuit board design creation in ORCAD and Mentor

  • Experience with electrical circuit board layout
  • Ability to recognize multiple alternatives in designs and imagining objects/layouts in different orientations.
  • Ability to follow established methods and procedures.
  • Understands translating two-dimensional drawings into three dimensions
  • Quickly learns and adapts to new and increasing responsibilities.
  • Experienced in industry
  • Familiarity with US Government Agencies and their Prime Contractors
  • Already has a DOE Q or DOD TS clearance
  • Candidates with greater experience may apply, and may be considered for the next level in the designer job family commensurate with candidate credentials and as warranted by current business requirements.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision from more experienced Designers.
