This is an incredibly exciting time to join the Homes and Global Distribution team at Honeywell! Homes and Global Distribution is a leader in the home heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) controls and security markets, and a leading global distributor of security and fire protection products.

In 2018, Honeywell will be spinning off the Homes and Global Distribution business into a stand-alone, publicly traded company. Being a stand-alone company will provide the business the independence, focus, direct financial resources, and flexibility required to adapt quickly to market and customer dynamics, and we want you to be part of its evolution.

For our Air & Water business, we are looking for our site in Mosbach for an

Electronic Design Engineer (m/f) Air & Water

Key Responsibilities

•Build-up of electronic and mechatronic expertise in Homes potable water business

•Design of electronic and electro-mechanic products for Water controls business especially controllers for electrical sensors and actuators including communication interfaces to cloud to develop fluid controls products for domestic, civil and municipal applications.

•Design and test of sensing element and associated signal processing. Definition of data to be transferred to cloud for analytics.

•Identify impact of new product on Edge Device connectivity protocols and software. Work with system architect for implementation of changes.

•Defining, designing, developing, testing, and supporting development and production of electronic devices for cost-effective PRV, Filters, Thermal valves or other Water controls products for use within Water controls products. Coordinate the execution of prototypes, evaluate the testing results and improve the product performance accordingly

•Taking ownership for, as well as performing all activities associated with developing products or sub-assemblies from their definition phase into production.

•Introducing new technologies, methodologies, suppliers and/or innovation to Water controls development teams, and products, as appropriate.

•Working close together with Mechanical Design Engineers in Brno (Czech Republic) and Mosbach (Germany)

•Accountable for on-time – project delivery, release the product into production

Experience / Education Required

•Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

•At least 5 years’ work experience and knowledge of design of electronic devices related to control systems, measuring or automation

•English and German language skills

Skills and Qualification Required:

•Very good knowledge of electronic circuits (power supplies, amplifiers, electrical filters, microcontrollers and peripherals), electronic components (including microcontrollers)

•Knowledge of designing controllers for electrical actuators e.g. motors and solenoids and sensors like temperature, flow and pressure sensors would be beneficial

•Experience of design for manufacture, design for test, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), as well as structured quality and design methodologies such as DFSS would be advantageous.

•Knowledge and experience with any of the communication systems (e.g. wireless and wired like ZigBee, MBUS, Bluetooth, LON, RS-422, …)

•Knowledge of assembler, C++ or another programming language at a basic level would be an asset

•Good understanding of mechanical requirements for actuators and sensors

•Experience with EN standards for electrical devices (e.g. safety and EMC)
