Strategic Project Buyer m/f - NPI

The position is within the Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions business working on New Product Introduction (NPI) supply chain initiatives. This position supports key growth initiatives globally, and hence provides significant visibility and growth potential for the right candidate.

Principal Accountabilities:

Project Management

•Develop and deliver sourcing supplier plan for all NPI and VE projects assigned, identifying and contracting with prospective and incumbent suppliers

•Complete risk assessment and create proactive action plans for all key milestone miss or potential failure modes in the project

•Complete all aspects of NPI sourcing process from bid to award

•Develop integration plan to ensure smooth transition of NPI or VE into factory or EMS

•Complete Design for Manufacturability, new supplier reviews, and PPAP with Supplier Quality and Engineering

•Setup flexible supply chain for<10 day LT and automate PO/forecast communication

•Execute source selection and initial orders per project to ensure on-time competitive source selection and align delivery needs to minimize risk for project

Contract Management

•Develop RFQ process that includes lifecycle and inventory management

•Complete non-disclosure agreement as well as Multiyear strategic supplier contracts incorporating KPIs and continuous improvement commitment for all major NPI

Technical Needs

•Work with the commodity specific Category Manager to locate prospective new suppliers as necessary to meet unique needs

•Communicate all requirements to suppliers and solicit feedback throughout RFP, VE and NPI process

•Facilitate technical discussions and involve the commodity specific Supplier Engineer for critical components and coordinate Design for Manufacturability

•Maintain continuous in-depth knowledge of market conditions, industry trends, and developing technologies

25 Oversees and coordinates the operational and strategy creation aspects of sourcing projects

25 Partners with Category and Commodity leaders to create strategy and drive projects to completion

25 Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports

25 Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customers satisf

Key Qualifications

•Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering field

•3 - 5 years of strategic sourcing experience, ideally in a position of Project Buyer in electrotechnical, automotive or general engineering industry

•Proven negotiations skills

•Fluency in English and German language

•Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work comfortably in a highly matrixed organizational environment

Additional Qualifications:

•Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

•Purchasing or Production certification (e.g. CPM or APICS) a plus

•Experience with new product aligning customer needs with the supply base

•Detail oriented to manage project tasks

•Strong commodity knowledge

•Strong project management skills and organization

•Excellent teaming abilities
