This position is responsible for implementation, execution, and maintenance of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) in Phoenix, AZ. Within this position the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting HOS initiatives, to ensure Honeywell's Goals and Objectives for material availability, working capital improvements, productivity, and cycle times are met on a continuing basis in support of our customers. The VMI Focal will improve the replenishment strategies and institutionalize them as part of the material flow process utilizing existing systems and database functionality where possible to reduce complexity.

The position for solving process issues leading to hardware availability, often include consulting on process improvements including developing tools and processes to enable stocking strategies to continue to be successful. The VMI Focal works strategic issues with suppliers as needed to improve delivery performance of VMI parts. Some activities will include direct material delivery, lot sizing, replenishment time management, trigger methods and timing, and prompt return of VMI discrepant material, and all while balancing working capital needs.

  • Drive implementation activities to enable and expand VMI with external suppliers
  • Responsible for determining inventory burn down based on negotiated cut-in dates for VMI parts
  • Implement system changes with various functional areas for Site VMI implementation
  • Coordinate and support Supplier VMI Inventory Audits
  • Responsible for solving systemic issues impacting hardware availability, including consulting on process improvements and developing tools to enable stocking strategies to continue to be successful.
  • Work strategic issues with suppliers as needed to improve performance of the VMI processes.
  • Activities would include direct material delivery, lot sizing, replenishment time management, trigger methods and timing, all while balancing working capital requirements
  • Coordinate, analyze, and implement quarterly optimization for VMI Min/Max, Fixed Order Quantity adjustments and Min Order Qty adjustments (if applicable), and KANBAN Bin Sizing stratification.
  • Actively participate on cross-functional teams, MOR’s, Inventory reporting, etc. as needed
  • Report metrics accurately to all Levels of Honeywell employees depicting the health of stocking strategies and reporting methods - driving accountability and issue resolution
  • Successfully communicate, coordinate, teach and influence activities across many functions without direct reporting relationships
  • Participates and/or leads special projects or teams or as situations dictate. This could include internal or external teams both within the organization and at the supplier level.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, technical or plus 3 years of ISC sourcing, materials planning and/or logistics experience, in lieu of degree a minimum of 5 years of ISC
  • 3 years of MRP experience
WE VALUE
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) systems
  • SAP, inventory control, Production Scheduling experience
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Microsoft Access highly utilized
  • Demonstrated use of Excel macros
  • General knowledge of ABC order policy stratification, lot sizing, project management, productflow, Lean, and HOS
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, as a self-driven individual with minimal supervision
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a strong focus on continuous improvement
