Sr. Rsrch Scientist / Engineer

Support Honeywell to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers in the fields of gas a physical sensing. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation products by inventing, designing, testing and validating technologies from prototype into start of full New Product Development. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. Selected candidate must be willing to travel up to 25%.

·Immediately work within a team of technicians, engineers, and other scientists to design, model and help characterize prototype systems.

·Serve as inventor and core team member from concept development, proof of principle experimentation, prototype creation, and technology transfer to into New Product Development.

·Be a champion of the robust model-based design and experimental prototype validation in early phases of projects for technical risk mitigation and further model refinement

·Refine and expand your engineering skills in a team-based culture by working with innovative people, technologies, and products

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Engineering
WE VALUE
  • Ph. D. in Chemistry (Inorganic focus), EE, Physics, or related fields with strong research foundation involving optical systems and technologies
  • Fundamental understanding of electrochemical processes & general sensing physics and signal transduction
  • Scientific and functional excellence in applied chemistry; experience in sensing systems is a plus;

Experience working within design, model, and test development cycles (academic / Ph.D. work suffices) + Expertise in modeling multi-physics phenomena (e.g., Matlab, Comsol,... ) + Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and to transfer ideas into equations and basic phenomena models + Some experience in sensor design engineering experience (graduate research is applicable) + Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
