The IoT Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and engaging with potential IoT customers with focus on business value creation through data analysis, data modeling and data integration in various vertical market segments. In this role the Data Scientist will deliver new and existing Honeywell IoT solution based on data analytics that will generate new business and establish market leadership in industrial IoT space. Successful candidate must be comfortable exploring new business opportunities, analyzing industry trends, market situation and customer requirements; and create new or tailor existing solutions to solve customer problems in partnership with other Honeywell business units and partner ecosystem to deliver the “whole” IoT solutions to the market place.

The Sr. Data Scientist will be managing all of the above activities and delivering data analytics solutions. The candidate will be passionate about defining and driving the IoT strategy with focus on data analytics and execution for IoT and data analytics solution PoC’s and reference case building.

Roles and Responsibilities:

–Collaborate with business and solution teams in vertical industry units in Honeywell and global data analytics solutions to define and develop customer specific IoT (data analytics) solutions.

–Leverage technical know-how and domain knowledge of Honeywell experts to define, design and develop intelligent algorithms/models to operate on the right data sets

–Integrate multi-structured data from various sources to unlock new value for Honeywell and its customers

–Lead the pre-sale engagement from data analytics perspective and implement the solutions during the project delivery

–Develop and deploy data science based analytical algorithms on both backend and the edge

–Build a strong data science group by teaming and collaborating with other team members, partners and customers

​Basic Requirements:

–Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Statistics, or other relevant degree

–Experience working in data analytics for 5-7 years

–Experience working with distributed computing tools such as MapReduce, Pig, Spark

–Fluency in a programming or scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Java) for fast prototyping and significant knowledge of core library and common design patterns

–Proficiency with Unix/Linux environments

–Knowledge and experience of statistical analysis tools such as R/SPSS/MATLAB

–Knowledge and experience in multi-structured data modeling and NoSQL technologies such as HBase and Cassandra.

–Ability to assess/evaluate and recommend right platform and tools

–Ability to understand algorithms and translate them into MapReduce/Spark framework and support different analytics projects across the data science locations in China

–Ability to develop abstract interfaces to reduce the steep learning curve of data analytics technologies

–Ability of simultaneously working on multiple projects, with small teams of data analytics professionals

Additional Qualifications:

•Demonstrated experience in working with solutions, defining requirements, conducting gap analysis for internal and external offerings that can form the complete solution using various technology, software and hardware products and service offering

•Demonstrated experience in successfully working cross-functional teams and integrations.

•Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate across time zones and cultures

•Excellent written and oral communicator

•Data analytics project skills in vertical industries are preferred

•Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•Project management skill in customer engagement situation

•Ability to travel up to 30%, including international travel, on a regular basis
