What are we looking for?

Due to an exciting time within our organisation, our site in Yeovil is looking for an experienced Planner. This is a role with fantastic career development for the right individual. The planner will be responsible

for effectively balancing supply and demand for a product range, ensure customer on time delivery, whilst optimising inventory performance. The planner will also provide technical support for continuous improvements of the manufacturing/planning processes, and systems.

What will you be doing every day?

  • Ensure maximum supply stability through monitoring and acting upon incoming new orders and changes to customer demand plans.
  • Analysis and execution of Repair and Overhaul (R&O) signals within the planning and inventory management systems.
  • Active contribution to SIOP cycle deployment & management
  • Ensure a material and capacity feasible production plan is set to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time to their requirement.
  • Provide technical support for continuous improvements of the manufacturing/planning & procurement processes and systems driving increased customer delivery performance.
  • Review and resolve mid to long range schedule conflicts ensuring supply balance and improved inventory.
  • Responsible for driving rate based / level loading projects into the factory and supply chain to maximise customer performance and support optimal inventory levels
  • Stock allocation decision making between Direct Sales and OE dependent demand.
  • Responsible for the introduction and management of drawing changes throughout the supply chain
  • Responsible for managing material master data, creating and optmising bill of material (BOM) construction through make or buy process (Existing or New product introduction).
  • Ensure all production bill of materials are accurate and reflect the latest drawing issue.
  • Actively manage Non-recurring demand and other product growth/decline within R&O portfolio
  • Drive and support operational initiatives to optimise inventory levels

What skills and requirements do you need?

  • Previous materials requirement planning (MRP) experience is essential
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at multiple levels
  • PC literate e.g. MS Office
  • Analytical with the ability to identify trends in data
  • SAP experience is ideal
  • You will be motivated, and driven to develop yourself
  • Previous experience within Aerospace/automotive/manufacturing sector is desirable
  • MCIPS qualification is advantageous, but not essential
